RSMS Radar Data Collection:
Because of some unique problems posed by the measurement of radar signals, a particularly large
effort has been applied to measurement algorithms and custom-designed RF hardware to accurately
and efficiently characterize such signals. The resulting solution allows the RSMS to measure
radar signals with the following capabilities:
- 120 dB dynamic range;
- full frequency range of emission spectrum occurring within the dynamic range listed above;
- antenna patterns with multipath features automatically removed;
- beam scanning patterns characterized rapidly;
- pulse sequences characterized rapidly.
Examples of radar emission spectra measured by the RSMS can be found in NTIA Report 82-92,
